I look after my mom with dementia and struggle financially. Her 80 year old sister wants to move in to help with financially. Should I?

I have full time job and running business and suffer financially. My mother 86 has dementia. Her sister is 80 is not happy at old age home and wants to come and stay with me as well. Financially it will help, but should i do this. I have a carer during the day from Monday to Friday till 16h00.

I know you WANT to do the RIGHT thing - and the thought of having your Mom and her sister together sounds ideal for both of them - but for you, it sounds like it would be EXHAUSTING and certainly not manageable.

Does your aunt have her own children? Why are they not involved?

Unfortunately for your aunt, it would not be fair to you. Do not take on more than you can or really want to do. The fact that you ask this is a sign you are not confident you can take it on.

That is ok, you are taking care of mom, you cannot take on more.

I don't see how you can possibly provide care for two people and work full-time. The assistance that you receive financially will not be worth the emotional and physical stress that you will incur.
