If loved one falls while living and paying for assisted living, go to hospital and rehab, do they pay assisted living for that time?

If they go to the hospital and then go to skilled care for say, up to 100 days for recovery from their fall/breakage, are they still responsible for paying for the assisted living as their room/apartment is being kept for them? Not sure if it's discounted, full price, or they don't pay at all. Thanks.

The 'agreement' for my Mom was full pay for the entire time she is out of the facility! Some residents' families empty out the room and then add their loved one's name to the waiting list to come back. It may be less expensive even with 'entry fees'.

they still have to pay. think of it as if you happened to fall, you still have to pay your mortgage and electric, etc. It is an apartment, you still pay rent. You can try to negotiate a lower rate with the assisted living place since they are receiving no extra services such as assistance and meals. My friend was able to get a very reduced rate when her mother ended up in rehad longer than her move in date. She moved in and was sent after a week back to hospital and back to rehab and I believe they gave her another reduced rate for the second month.
