What is your opinion regarding the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE)?

I would also appreciate any contacts for financial help or guidance for my Mom - w/alzheimers, no savings and no end of life planning in place.

Where can I go in Coastal SC for pace info? Horry county?

Out here in the hinderland, I am sure we don't have it. We just barely gave up the stagecoach.

We live in Roswell, Ga. Who would I call?

Louell, PACE stands for All Inclusive Care for the Elderly.

Mom is under the PACE program here in Massachusetts and it has been a godsend. They do have a day activity center that Mom doesn't use (moderate dementia and uncomfortable around people) but they would send a van to pick her up every day if she did. Mom has very little income and needs an Assisted Living facility. I found a wonderful senior living facility run by the Visiting Nurse Association and they helped me with all the paperwork to get Mom onto PACE. PACE is footing most of the bill there. The PACE doctors actually make house calls! She gets all her meds (delivered) at no cost. They just had a nurse come and give her a flu shot. She gets an annual visit from PT, OT and a dietician ro see if she needs anything. A nurse also comes by occasionally just to make sure everything is OK. I am very very happy with them. Now, on the negative side: we live in Massachusetts and are surrounded by world class hospitals. Mom is restricted to the doctors and hospitals in the PACE program which, in our case, is a community hospital. I have nothing against it. But it isn't Mass General and I don't know what would happen if Mom needed more advanced care than what could be covered in a community hospital. So far, this hasn't been the case but I do wonder. I don't know if the program is exactly the same in Florida, but I am happy to answer any other questions you might have if I can. Good luck!

i too would like that information. I also live in SC, near Columbia, and would be very interested in any help I could get for my 82 yr old mom who lives with me.

I take care of my mother,alone being a male this is a slight problem,Here in South Carolina we have a program copied from pace exactly.It has been a blessing for us.She is there 9/5 could be 8/6.All inclusive is great anything we need we just ask.For me thats the hard part asking,I had to learn how.But the program here is great.
