I read someone who took care of her mother at home said she gentry opened her mother's mouth and gave her even a one spoon of drink. She repeated many times, and gentry hold her. I remember one of the residents in an assisted living facility. She refused to eat. Her mouth was tightly closed. Isn't anyone brushing her teeth and gums or cleaning her dentures? This needs to be done daily. Yes, I think you will need some help if she is unable to swallow. She might have to be fed by tube. I am so sorry. I have been where you are.

If you have a very tiny sponge, even cut a tiny piece about the size of a quater,wet it an wipe her mouth out if you can.... better than making her aspirate whatever she has in her mouth . yes Hospice needs to be involved ASAP.....
