Where can I find help dealing with an abusive spouse of a person with Alzheimer's?

My father in law abuses my mother in law in many ways. He does not feed her and she is dropping weight, he does not bath her or change her clothes and they are dirty and smelly. Her dentures havent' been cleaned in month. He has changed her financial wishes for his benefit. He drinks heavily, like 1/2 bottle of scotch each day. Where do I go for help.

No it is her she is bad, can she stop us from stepping in and moving him in with us. We are hoping she will go to her children and just leave. I hate this but if we don't do something I think she will end up doing something bad. He has been out of his meds for at least 2 weeks

If it is that dangerous you can call the police as well. Hopefully it will speed up the process. Please do something before he kills her.

Report the situation to Adult Protective Services. Call them and tell them what is going on. They will come out and investage the situation. It may seem like a harsh action to take, but if your MIL is not being cared for, she needs someone to advocate for her. Let us know how things go and Good luck!!!
