Does anyone know any resources for leg amputee, handicapped, and disabled?

looking for housing in rockland county, ny not quite a senior but I believe under the circumstances he qualifies as a senior. He is married and his wife is desperately looking for a ground level aptartment to rent. Is there any guidance or housing for this type of situation. I thought here would be a great place to ask, for a friend in need.

I'd go to the NY state official website and type in "disabilities" and related search words. You should find local resources to help your friend through such a search.
Also, the local housing authority should have information on specific housing.
Thanks for helping your friend,
Carol

Thanks for your response Carol. Trying that route seems to be endless calls and no help. My friend's have low income and it is required to get a first level apt. for safety purposes which is understandable. He is in rehab currently and upon release they need a place for accessible safety living conditions.
