I have an aunt, that is 65 or 66 years old, who's become reclusive and will not see a doctor. What can I do?

I believe she has some form of psychosis, not sure what maybe schizophrenia or something, at any rate I've never found her violent or harmful to self or others. I am most concern that she has not left the house in over 5 years and I believe she has ailments that are not so good, there is an odor that come from her as if there is infection of something. I think her foot, but she won't let anyone see it and she refuses to go to the doctor and when we've had doctors to come by she stays in her room. I am so afraid that something is very wrong but do not know how to get her to seek help. Very frustrating !! What can I do?

Call Adult Protective Services. If your aunt is mentally ill (my mother was) she will not listen to reason.

CoolMama,

I am sorry to hear that your aunt is becoming reclusive and will not see a doctor. Unfortunately, this is a common issues for many caregivers and elders. The following article can give you some tips if your elder refuses to see the doctor.
