Selina Asked January 2012

Is it true that once you reach a certain age you can no longer get Alzheimer's disease?

Thats the best I can do

EXPERT Carol Bradley Bursack, CDSGF Jan 2012
Our Alzheimer's risk increases with age - unfortunately, there's no "cutoff." In the past, many people didn't live long enough to develop AD. They died of other illnesses first. Now, many people live into their 80s and 90s. Risks keep increasing. Sorry. I'd like agree with you but I can't.
Take care of your body and brain. That is the best we can do now.
