My mother is increasingly incontinent and must start wearing Depends. She is refusing to put them on - even when I took all her regular underwear away and left only Depends. Help !
Is your mom's mental state deteriorating to the place where she doesn't understand that she HAS to wear them, or is she just plain refusing? If it's the first, then probably with repetition it'll sink in (maybe) but if it's the second, then you'll need to have a heart to heart with her. If she's embarrassed by having to wear them, you can tell her that unless she wears a sign around her neck telling people she's wearing a diaper, no one's gonna know.
