My mother cut herself on the top of her arm and it wont stop bleeding. How can I help her skin heal?

I cleaned the wound with hydrogen proxide, water, then put antibiotc and guaze. I finished using a web dressing. My concern is that I do not know how often I should clean the wound. It is a Saturday and I do not want to take her to an urgent care due to all the sickness that will surround her. Any other tips on helping an elder with onion skin heal?

Does the clinic your mother uses and/or her insurance company have a nurse help line? I have found these services extremely helpful in this kind of situation. Maybe someone here will see you question and have the knowledge to answer you. Since you want/need a quick answer I'd use a medical help line if that is available to you.

I understand your concern about bringing her to urgent care or ER. That can add problems of its own. But I'm sure you'd want to do that if it really is best. A professional opinion can help with that tough call.

Good luck!
