Is it time for me to move my mom?

aA 93 year old with failing eyesight, problems getting about and a very poor diet living alone. I do not live in the state nor do I have the leagal power, but I am told but we don't want to treat her like an infant. I don't know how to get everyones attention that something needs to be done. Very frustrated with responses. Everyone gives lip service and does nothing.

Then I guess you let that sibling run the show, especially if mom is on board. Sorry. It is what it is.

What do you do when youi know it is time but the sibling living the closest does not agree and says that they will handle it and you are to butt out. Also when your mother is angry about the idea and wants to go along with that sibling.

You know, as soon as you step up and take action, it'll be 'tag you're it' from then on. Be prepared to be the one that does everything for her. That doesn't mean that she should be living alone anymore, but I'm just saying.... My mother-in-law has macular degeneration too. After her husband died she tried to live alone with our assistance. I set up Meals on Wheels, a LifeAlert necklace & set up her pills. I'm the one that washed her hair and took her places usually. It was bad and we knew that she shouldn't be living alone anymore. She tripped and would bang her head, hurt her arm etc. Finally she fell and broke her hip, and we took that opportunity to start looking for asst living places while she was in rehab. During her rehab time she was evaluated by at least 4 doctors and they all agreed she could no longer live alone. She HATED that when I told her finally straight out that she could never go home again. It was pretty bad. But in her heart she knew we were right, and now a year later she's resolute that she's where she should be. It was a huge pain, but so worth it.
