What is the best way to deal with bed sores or presure points?

mydog1 Feb 2011
Turning the patient is vital. Think of a clock and reposition the person every 20 minutes at the MOST. Clean wound with weak salt water 1/2 teaspoon to 2 cups let dry COMPLETELY then use wound specifect cream and cover with a covering just for wounds. Make sure that it is large enough so that it does not stick to wound. Follow advice for towels, pillows & relieving pressure points.

Make sure the sores are cleaned, antibiotic cream and covered. Most important is to make sure the person is not sitting/laying on the sores or pressure points. Use small pillows, rolled up blankets/towels with tape to help alleviate the pressured area. Try to re-position the person every few hours if possible. A healthy diet is ultra important for the wounds to heal.
