Which anti-depressant has proven effective for an aging adult with early signs of dementia? She just started Celexa.

Only her doctor can tell you for sure, and most things take a trial run because they act differently in different people. For myself, my mom has "some" (HA!) mental health issues - BPD? MPD? Toxic aging? Regardless, it means she gets agitated and stressed easily and I get the fallout. Stress also means that her forgetfulness goes into overdrive. A combination of 20 mg Celexa and 5mg Aricept seems to be helping her right now. It took a little while to get into her system, and she still gets bent sometimes, but the combination seems to take the edge off of those things that were sending her (and me!) over the edge.
