My dad has been asking his female caregiver to have sex with him out of the blue. I'm 48 and have never heard him utter the word in my life. How should this be handled?

hello, I understand what your dealing with, mom would never had made sexual gestures toward anyone. However, now with dementia you never know what she might say. Mom took a special liking towards my husband. She would ask him and tell him things making it very uncomfortable for him. Honestly, at first I thought it was amusing because I never heard her talk like that, but I was actually encouraging the behavior. Tell your caregiver to try not to respond in anyway, and try to change the subject immediately. Thats what worked the best with my mother. My husband and I tried to explain to her that what she said made him uncomfortable, but she would just laugh about it. Ignoring if possible is the best solution in my eyes after a while(it tooks a couple months) she stopped making comments in a sexual nature. Good luck!
