What do you do when your parent refuses to go to the doctor to refill his medications?

My 81 year old Dad will not let me take him to the doctor. His medications need to be refilled, but no doctor is going to do that without seeing him?

Can you make an appointment and tell him he MUST go because medicare requires a yearly doctors visit to get the prescription? Make the government or supplemental insurance company the bad guy. Tell him it's just a quick visit in and out - no tests, no pokes in the arm, etc... This might be a white lie and it might seem manipulative but it's necessary sometimes. It's not a lie and it's not evil manipulation if your intent is for his own good.
Best of luck.
