My name is listed first and my father's second on his money market & CD accounts. If the money is liquidated to pay for his care, does he have to go to a nursing home?

My 83-year-old father lives with me, he has money market & cd mone in the bank. My name is listed first and his second on the account. Would like to kno if he has to go into a nursing home(he is a vet) if the money in these accounts will be liquidated to pay for his care. Also am I allowed to take out the interest that has been earned on the account since I pay the interest.

Hmmmm, I'm not as experienced as some here but I would think a visit with an elder care attorney would be very much worth the money.
