How do I determine what hours or days would be the most helpful for in-home assistance for my elderly father?

I have the same problem. It costs $18 an hour for someone to come to my home for 9 hrs a day so I can work. They watch her sleep for two or three hours in the afternoon. I wish I knew she would be safe to leave alone but I fear that she would try to get to the bathroom alone and fall.
