How do I start becoming more resilient and adaptable?

I am in the formative stage of my program and do not have a discussion at this time. Perhaps I could begin with managing change and developing independence, and dealing with the loss of a spouse and the loss of one's home.

EXPERT Carol Bradley Bursack, CDSGF Nov 2009
I've read where some people are naturally more resilient than others, but that resiliency can be learned. Change is hard for most of us, and when the change involves loss and grief, it can require professional help to cope.

You sound as though you are looking for company along the road, so please keep coming back. If you need in-person help, please look for some counseling, as well. Both of these approaches can help people find their new "normal." With time, many even find joy in their new lives.

Take care. We're glad to have your here.

Bienvenido Sheldon!

Nothing wrong with being a sponge and sucking it all in. At the tender age of 50, I look forward to the comments and issues raised by caregivers in this forum. Neon, Carol, SecretSister, and many others share often; and you can benefit from their experiences, knowledge, and wisdom. So keep coming back.
