Do nursing homes call back saying they would love to care for your elderly loved on again?

Before my mother went into the nursing home she is in now, she was in another one for a few weeks before she fell and broke her hip. Since April, we will get a phone call from that nursing home asking how my mother is doing and saying if I ever need them to take care of her, they would be glad to have her back. To me this is blatant salesmanship and today they called again. I let them know to please stop calling.

I've never heard of this, myself. It does sound like salesmanship, and I think your response was correct. Good for you.

Some nursing homes must really be hurting for business to be calling people whose loved ones use to live there.

I got an unsolicited brochure in the mail - $199 to 225 !!per day!!, incontinent care an extra $425.00 month

Funny how we family members have to beg for help, but these facilities charge outrageous rates and even get reimbursed by some of the Medicare programs. WOW - what is so different from what we do for love alone?
