Assisted suicide legalized in England and Wales on June 20, 2025.

A historic step: the House of Commons voted 314 to 291 in favor of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill, which legalizes assisted dying (commonly called assisted suicide) for adults with less than six months to live, subject to safeguards.
What the Bill Covers:
Who qualifies: Adults (18+) in England and Wales with under six months to live, fully mentally competent, and voluntarily requesting assistance.
Safeguards:- Approval needed from two independent doctors.- Oversight by a review panel (including a psychiatrist, social worker, and legal member).- No requirement for judicial approval, which was removed during later amendments.
What Happens Next:
The bill now moves to the House of Lords for further debate and possible amendments.
If approved by the Lords and receives Royal Assent, it will become law —potentially implemented by 2029.

Wonderful. I have long worked here for passage of our MAiD law (Medical Aid in Dying). You can, if you choose, skip that whole hospice thing for self and family. A six month prognosis will get MAiD and I am so happy about this. Already did my psychological counseling, etc. Kaiser will help in implementation. I am so very grateful. Give opportunity to discuss this with family, prepare so much as able, and avoid so much of "tough times". Only problem I see in all these laws is that you must keep that "being of sound mind". So that precludes and tripping into mets to the brain, et al.
