I had to complete a Medicaid app for my mom and because part of her rent to own agreement is to pay taxes on the house, Medicaid is requesting a copy of the house deed to verify my mom is not on the deed before they will approve the application. They are asking that l provide a copy of the deed within the next 3 days to avoid an application denial.

Find Care & Housing
County Clerk should have the deed. But as I said in ur last post, Mom probably does not own the house. At this point Mom rents. She will not own the house until finally paid for, IMO.

You want an actual MS County website, so ends in .gov
like hancockcountyms.gov

Now on getting records via online, should be simple. Especially for the bigger counties (Hinds, Rankin, Harrison, Jackson, whatever Oxford is in), they all have on-line property records. It’s in the Land Records Search section of the Co website. It’s by name, parcel # or PPIN, address. You find the property and then scroll to find the type of document you want a copy of; pay the fee and you get a PDF type of download, which you then print out. What you are wanting is probably the Deed of Trust or an Addendum to Deed of Trust.

usually right before you hit “buy” it will show the first page maybe two pages, so you can read it to see if this is what you are looking for. If the property is old, so lots of buyers over the years could be dzs of items listed.

If this is too daunting, then call early morning to the courthouse to the Recorder or Conveyance office or maybe Chancery Clerk office and ask how to get a copy. Could take days to get posted. If you need this asap, you’ll need to physically go to the courthouse in person, fill out whatever paperwork needed to request a copy. Take cash and in smaller bills (most now do not do change so either you have exact amount due or leave the extra). Good luck.

Call your local county public records office.
They will guide you and likely you can get this easily done through them.
