I have a few very part-time caregivers, who I pay privately, they are not with an organization. If a holiday falls on a Friday or a day of the week that is their normal day to care for my mother, and they are willing to work the holiday (example, July 4th) would you pay them extra? If so, how much?

Time and a half is a nice gesture. (You pay them an extra half hour for every hour worked.)

If they are willing to work on a holiday perhaps a bonus would be nice, nothing more than half the hourly wages for the time worked. Example you pay them 20 an hour for 3 hours, holiday you pay them an additional 10 an hour, time and a half is standard. Unless you are government employee then you get 2 1/2 times your regular pay, but I do believe that is because they get paid time off for holidays and time and a half for the actual hours worked.

It is great you are acknowledging your caregivers dedication to your mom.
