It’s with heavy heart to report my dear mom passed away🙏🏼😢

My dear mom passed away on Monday at age 98. She would’ve been 99 next month…I checked into the facility at 5:36pm Monday and she was declared deceased at 5:38pm before I got to her room…Nurse was about to give me condolences when I ran past her to mom’s room…I cried…”Mom wake up!” ..she still felt warm…I asked Nurse Supervisor to make sure since she was once unresponsive before a couple years ago & then woke up…but now it was the end…she had no pulse, heart beat or blood pressure…I held her hand and stayed with her for about 3 hours…after she was gone…I had a feeling since she kept repeating same phrase prior night telling herself “This is it” for about 3 hours. I asked mom to please stop saying that for a few seconds so I can put back her denture…and then she can go back to saying it again…because I know how she hated being around people with no teeth..but she wouldn’t or couldn’t open her mouth. Dr she had for almost 3 years there spoke with me by phone & told me she passed away peacefully in her sleep without any suffering. The CNA told me in dining room, mom told her that her mom and dad were here to pick her up and take her home. Now she’s with my dad and my grandparents & her baby sister who died from Dr mistake when she was 2 1/2 and mom was 5. Funeral was Thursday. ..afterwards my brother and I took everyone out to eat …& then Shiva ..before mom was in facility, I cared for her at home with help from aides.…she wasn’t walking for 10 years. Dementia, immobility, incontinence. I’ve been on forum long time getting & giving advice. I’ll miss mom every single day. I’m heartbroken even though she was 98 & almost 99…She was my best friend…She looked very much at peace when I did ID . 🙏🏼✡️🙏🏼

I'm so sorry. Losing a mom is tough. My mom passed away at 66. I cried and cried and some moments, I still cry.
You were blessed to be in your mom's life, and she was blessed to have you in her life.
Take all of the time you need to grieve and don't let anyone tell you to snap out of it. It's raw right now, but the pain you are feeling will ease in time.

I'm so sorry you have lost your earthly mom. Take your time to get past this first stretch of grief. You will have her to keep in your memories always and she'll remain your best friend. Tell stories about her. I'm sure there are many.

What a blessing that your moms family members were there waiting for her to cross over, and that she died peacefully. We can't ask for more than that.
I hope you will now take the time to take care of yourself and live your best life as you know your mom would want that much for you.

My condolences on the loss of your wonderful mom. My mom was 95 when she died after 5 years of dementia, and it comforted me to know that she was no longer suffering. Try thinking about it that way, and I wish you the peace of knowing that you did a great job taking care of her.

It’s easy to see how beloved your mother has been. I’m sorry for your loss. She certainly knew your love and care. She’s now at peace. You’re correct, you’ll miss her daily, it doesn’t go away but does become more accepted with the gift of time. I wish you the comfort of good memories and much rest and peace for the days ahead
