I need to hire someone to take an elderly relative to a doctor's appointment.
The person needs to pick her up in Brooklyn, NY, take her to doctor's appointment in lower Manhatten, wait for her and take her back to Brooklyn. How do I find someone?
It's possible that her county may offer affordable rides via drivers and small buses so contact social services for her county.
Call her local Area Agency on Aging for other resources, or the community Senior Center.
If this relative has any cognitive or memory issues it would not be ethical to send them with someone who is not legally responsible for them, like a PoA or legal guardian. The county senior bus service in my area prohibits anyone with those impairments to travel unaccompanied.
