How is your health after losing spouse? My BG (pre-diabetic only wake up check) has gone down to normal. Once low BP now 130/80 doc aware.
Had a check up last week for monthly allergy shots and doc aware and reported to PCP, my sleep is OK and I power walk/jog twice a day - 20-30 min since food intake low. Some weight loss but BMI NOT in underweight range (almost). Love & hugs to all
My health was fine while my husband developed frontotemporal degeneration and was at home for almost four years. I was taking an antidepressant, but that preceded that by years. It was also fine for the six years, four months he was a private-pay long-term care resident, although I no longer need the antidepressant. Now nearly 3.5 years later, it's still excellent. At nearly 71.5 years old, I only take one medication for elevated cholesterol. I walk every place I can and have done so for years (even though I own a car). Walking is one of the easiest and cheapest exercises available. Kudos to you for improving you health.
My MIL overall health improved greatly after my FIL passed away peacefully after 24/7 caregiving for more than 2 years. While my MIL was caregiving she couldn't regulate her BP even with meds and tinkering dosage and brands endlessly. The stress of caregiving is so pressing. Now, her BP is managed with much lower dosages and her stress level has subsided tremendously.
Good vibes to continued good health. Activity is key!!
It sort of is, after the fact. A question was asked. "How is your health after losing a spouse". Sounds like to me she was a caregiver and as such was stressed out. Without that stress her numbers have come down.
After I loss my spouse, walking was one of the main ways I dealt w/ the stress. I walked 20 min am/10 min pm. Now, it's just 20 min/am and I do yard work, walking back to the woods a few times in the afternoon. I've always been thin, but I eat really healthy, mediteranean diet, little sugar, vitamins, herbs (part. adaptogens) and it all has helped. I meditate w/ sacred acoustics/sounds for 20 min./day, too.
