Why does my moms SSI say she’s still getting her check?

My mom has been in a NH since the beginning of February, they just now want to take her check. The thing is it says on the automated call that she’s getting the full amount, when she got told she would only be getting a certain amount.

Yes, what mstrbill wrote. It takes the government a while to change anything. My Aunt was deceased for 2 months before they stopped direct depositing her SS check, even after I called them immediately after she passed (and so did the funeral home).

She is probably getting transitioned from Medicare paying the NH bills to Medicaid paying the nursing home bills. When Medicaid pays the NH bills, all of the resident's income (any income from SS, SSDI, or SSI is included) goes to the NH except a small amount, usually between $40-$60 a month.
