This is the Dept of Health and Human resourses, correct.
I see in WV/VA they handle Medicaid? Medicaid usually only pays caregivers who care for someone in a home setting and that person must fit Medicaid criteria income wise. Is this what your looking to get paid for?
Each State handles their own Medicaid program. You really need to call DHHR and speak to a caseworker and see if your application was received and if so what is the status.
What state and county are you in? Have you checked your mail to make sure they aren't requesting more information from you? Are you applying for disability? If so I think it can be a long wait, like maybe 3 months but you should call them to ask. This would give you the most accurate answer.
I would contact them by phone if you haven't heard anything. But honestly I don't have a clue; I think any governmental stuff right now is taking a while.
