Over Christmas my husband started to believe I left with out taking anything. Although we sleep in the same bed, he believes I am someone who came to help take care of him. A couple of times a week he tries to FaceTime his wife (me) I answer and show him it is me, but he is just confused. Now He says he wants to marry me. He said it again in front of our close friends tonight at a get together (he remembers them, just not me). They want to know if it would help if they performed a mock wedding for us? I am torn. Would it make my husband feel secure that I will stay with him? Or could it confuse his belief that his wife left him? Anyone face this situation?

Please read up on Capgrass, and you will learn a whole lot. Probably more than you actually want to know, as it can be quite scary.
Several women in my caregivers support group had/have husbands who suffered/suffer from Capgrass Syndrome and it was/is very difficult for them all.
Only one so far had to place her husband in memory care while the others opted to keep their husbands home, as eventually this too shall pass or they will.
I'm sorry you're having to go through this, as dementia really sucks!!!
