Maybe call Office Of Aging and ask for an evaluation of the new home with sight being a problem. They can offer suggestions how to place things so Mom does not trip. Maybe give Mom some tips, maybe some training.
You don't "get" someone adjusted to a new environment......time does that. You set up her room as it was in the other home, and bring familiar things along. Then time takes care of the rest.
B, I think given that we really don't know anything about your mom, and you are living with her, that YOU are the expert here. I am going to leave this in your good hands, because moves are difficult on everyone in the best circumstances. Good lighting from the windows and with lights themselves is perhaps a good way to begin. Take things slow and easy and be very available to her in the first days to do walk-arounds and walk-throughs. Try to keep emotions and tempers pretty even in this time of stress and good luck to you.
