Can a person be competent to sign a DPOA with a score of 12 on the MOCA?

AlvaDeer Nov 2024
That depends. The MoCa I believe is 30? Total? In any case, what is important is what the ATTORNEY decides. You will both attend an attorney who will examine him and ask him if he understands what he is doing. My brother passed with flying colors after being diagnosed with Lewy's Dementia. So it just depends on what portions of his executive functions are working.

The ATTORNEY EXAM decides it, but I would do this sooner than later.
The MoCa and the SLUMS will not be the deciders, but rather what your husband himself is capable of understanding.

More than likely not, but if it was done in a lawyers office and the lawyer after talking with this person decided that he/she was competent enough to designate someone as their DPOA, then yes it could be done.
