How much do you pay a caregiver per hr. for 6 hours a day? Duties preparing all meals on and off duty cleaning, laundry and assist in bathing.

Put it this way: I was making $10 an hour babysitting in 1990. So I would guess based on that about $40 an hour.

This is a great question. I put it on an AI app (ChatGPT) to see what answer it would give. This is for Australia. I do over 12 hours a day for two people but I calculated that for one person I would be paid $2100 a week. So why is the maximum Australian carer payment $1400 a fortnight?

"In Australia, the pay for aged care workers who provide in-home care can vary depending on factors such as experience, location, qualifications, and whether the work is through an agency or private employment. On average, as of recent data (2023-2024), the hourly rates for in-home aged care workers typically range between:

$25 to $35 per hour for entry-level or less experienced workers.
$35 to $45 per hour for experienced or qualified carers.
$45 to $55 per hour for highly experienced workers or those with specialist skills (e.g., dementia care or palliative care).
For overnight shifts or weekend work, there may be higher pay rates, sometimes with a penalty for working on public holidays. Additionally, workers who are employed through agencies may have slightly different rates, as agencies often add a fee to cover their administration and services."

You will likely pay approximately 30.00 to 40.00 an hour dependent on whether you use private pay/privately hired person or whether you choose to work through an agency in your area. Try care.com or an local agencies you see listed such as Visiting Angels and Etc. and discuss their charges on the phone.
