Do I keep my mom on a schedule for meals?

I have a caregiver from 9-1p M-F. We would really like to have mom up for breakfast by 11. Is it bad to try and wake them up to get moving? It doesn’t always put her in the best of moods. It’s very difficult to just accommodate her schedule for the day and work from home full-time.

You're better off changing the caregiver's schedule to one that's more suitable to your mother's non sleep schedule. You are on MOM'S schedule now, not vice versa. The more she sleeps, the easier your work schedule should be! And having a CG available for when shes awake should cover another 4 hours w/o interruption.

Jenjcronin, your other post says your Mom is 96. I think she gets to eat whenever she want, when she wants it.

Mood is everything. Food is nothing. Let her eat when and what and how much as she wants. No need for set meals. Ask her if she's hungry for something (egg, oatmeal, farina, fruit whatever) and give her as much as she wants and no more.
There is no reason to set anything in stone anymore.
