Jasneedhelp, welcome to the forum. I came across a good read regarding this subject. www.agingcare.com/articles/how-to-get-paid-for-being-a-caregiver-135476.htm

Keep us updated on your quest for payment, and if you have any caregiving questions, please feel free to ask :)

I would contact your local council on aging. They may have some ideas for you as regards places to contact to get updated on any governmental help that may exist for your personal situation.
Other than Medicaid, which must be qualified for both by lack of assets and by need, I do not personally know of any programs, but your state well may have things we aren't aware of.

Do understand that, even when there is help with some payments of caregivers, it can in no way compensate well enough to provide a living wage. We have, on this forum, often seen caregivers who lose a loved one and end up homeless, jobless and without a job history.

Tell us a bit more about your situation, and perhaps we can make suggestions that you can consider moving forward.
