Hi ! I live 9 hours from my elderly Mom who is going on Hospice. I want to be able to see her during the day esp since she has no kids in town . What kind of camera do your recommend and am I legally required to let caregivers know we have it on ? Thanks !

A good friend of mine who's wife had later stage Alzheimer's, decided to install cameras so he could watch every now and then when he was at work. The wife's caregiver was so uncomfortable having the new cameras that she gave notice and quit after helping out for a number of years. I don't blame her, it would be like any of us being watched while we worked at home.
My friend had a difficult time finding some new caregivers, cameras or not, his wife was afraid of someone new. He begged the previous caregiver to come back, that he would remove the cameras, but he waited too long to contact her, the caregiver had a new client. He had to work from home until he could find someone his wife wouldn't be scared of.
If so what is the facility policy on cameras?
If this is her home you need to check the laws in her State as to what is permitted.
In most places cameras are NOT permitted in any area where one would expect privacy (bathroom, bedroom for example)
Check to see if audio is allowed, some areas you need 2 party consent for audio recording.
And yes you would let caregivers know that there are cameras.
