Are there any true medical supply stores out there anymore for rollator walkers?

I looked up Medicare approved DME providers in my area an 90% came up as CVS! Well CVS isn't going to make sure my mom has the right height /type etc. right? The one supply store I did find that provides personal service doesn't accept her type of Medicare (United/AARP ppo). The other four or so don't even have web sites or are only for oxygen or catheters. Honestly so aggravating the smallest things take hours of research. So I'm asking my newly hired geriatric care manager and they can bill me for doing the same hours of googling probably. I guess this can be a test if sorts, see if they can find me what I need quickly if it exists...

I would ask your doctor to order for homecare to come in and see if a rollator is OK for the person needing it. For some people, they should not be using one. Because it has 4 wheels it can get away from a person. The therapist can come back and adjust it for the person and teach them how to use it.

My Uncle got a great buy, I think from CVS. My SIL had a 30% coupon and Uncle got a $300 rollator for about $200. If you can find a good sale you may get something better than what Medicare allows. My nephew has one with a seat $200 at Walmart. It was on sale for maybe $150. Didn't know that he got an extra $25 in points on his acct. So he got it for $125.

FYI, when I took my dad to the medical supply store for his rollator, the staff told us most people use them set far too low, causing that bent over look so often seen, and subsequent back pain. He fit my dad’s rollator higher than dad really wanted it, but it was perfect and helped dad stand better than he’d been doing before

Update : I called mom's health insurance directly and they have an out of network benefit where the claim will be processed as in network.

So once I get the script it will just be a matter of convincing the DME supplier this is the case...
