I have two motorcycles and a car. Will Medicaid make me sell my motorcycles?

Motorcycle values: Vespa Scooter - $4,000 and Harley Davidson Trike - $9,000. I still ride both of them. When I get to the Medicare spend down point (when our other assets, except house are exhausted) will I be able to keep my motorcycles.

If you have a spouse, you need to talk to an elder lawyer. What usually happens is assets are split. The Medicaid recipient spends down their split and then Medicaid is applied for. At that time the other spouse is considered the Community spouse. They remain in the house, get a car and enough or all of the monthly income of any SS and pension to live on. What happens to your scooters is a question for an Elder Lawyer.

Eager, it may have been easier to understand your question if you brought your profile upfront that you are caring for your wife and you have a question of separation of spousal benefits

If you're collecting Medicaid benefits, why would you need motorcycles? They don't let you ride them up and down the halls of Shady Pines Continuing Care Villas. Pretty sure of that.
