Would anyone who lives in Ireland be interested in setting up a sub-group to share info and for solidarity?

I live in Dublin, Ireland, and am an informal carer. My mother is not sick, just emotionally needy. We have both been through the wringer with our family in recent years. Losing my sense of self and it is wearing me down. It would be lovely to know if there are others in the same situation living near me who could meet up for coffee. Or even just share ideas on how to cope in this country where there is nothing for us informal carers. If you wanna meet up we can PM and swap email addresses.

I think the reason AgingCare attracts people from outside the US is that it is unique, if we could find something like it in our own countries we wouldn't be here. The topics are varied and posts routinely get answered by several people, not only that people can continue to post updates and clarifications and people will come back and respond to that too - the other elder care forums I have visited just do not get that level of continued support.

We have a few people from the UK but not many. Our Members are mostly from the US. A few Canadians and Australians. Maybe you can find a forum in Ireland. If you have Senior Services maybe they can give u some websites.
