Anyone tracking the teeth of elderly and find calcified nerves in their dental x-rays of their teeth and elder is totally fine and healthy?

I learned that some teeth will self calcify their own nerve. Sort of like the body does its own root canal. My dad seems to have a few teeth that are broken but because he won't let the dentist pull one tooth that is cracked, this worries me. But it appears to be fine and not bothering him. So i have been watching videos about teeth that the dentist cannot drill out during root canals because they cannot find the nerve channels as the body has calcified the nerve. I wonder, why bother because some of the filling options are guta percha and calcium hydroxide or biocalix which is a calcium based substance. If the root has become inert on its own, why get a root canal?

Whoa...I'm not a dentist nor have any knowledge in the area of dentistry. However, I can tell you that my sister's mother-in-law has so many bad teeth that they all have to be pulled. Dental implants are not an option available to her either because of the state of her bones and health. She is at a crossroad at this time because when they pull all her teeth, her jaw will slowly change shape, making the top and bottom not align, therefore dentures are not a long term viable option either.

She is looking at spending the rest of her life on very soft or liquid food. That's the risk of not going to the dentist for decades.

I'm glad I'm not her.
