She can pay you from any assets she has. If she is a Veteran the VA will pay you to care for her. (check with your local Veterans Assistance Commission they can help determine benefits) Check with your Area Agency on Aging they may have programs and it is possible that while you will not get paid a paid caregiver will be able to help.
