Does anyone have any tips to decrease the cost of an external catheter device at home? $200 dollars a month plus other supplies is high.

I am thinking of trying to clean and sterilize the silicone and hard plastic parts and then placing an absorbent pad over it that has no plastic backing. It is worth a try. This company has patents and goes after any company that tries to produce a similar product. I will continue to give my feedback….

Is this the PUREWICK system? I even went to the manufacturer to see if I could get a better deal on this for mom.

Nope. A few 'samples' and that was IT. So frustrating and mom wouldn't even consider it b/c of the cost.

I hope someone comes here and has a good idea. I think it's only made by one company and so there is no competition to make it more affordable.
