How do I donate equipment?

I have three walkers to donate. How do I do so?

Some of the smaller, local Thrift Shops have specialty sections with Medical Equipment. Not everyone has insurance, or is a senior that goes to a senior center so one of the first places they look when they need a Walker would be a local Thrift Shop, or even Garage Sale or FB/Nextdoor.com free ad. Whatever is easiest for you.

I have two very nice Walkers for myself (am uninsured) that were bought at a Garage Sale and a couple of cheaper ones that I use to manipulate around the house from a local church owned Thrift Shop.

No matter where you donate them - thank you kindly for doing so. They'll definitely be used by someone who needs them.

Some Villages have a Nurses Lending Closet.
My area has a Senior Volunteer organization and they take some equipment.
You can check with your local Senior Center.
Most people get them through their insurance.
You can bring them to a Resale Shop. I used to buy used ones so my Husband could use them in the shower. (he would not use the grab bars and the walker gave him something to hold while I showered him)

I also have 3 walkers, and 2 wheelchairs.   I haven't yet contacted the Paralyzed Veterans organization to see if they can use them, but that's my plan.   As MJ suggests, Senior Centers are a great resource.

If there's a senior center near you, take them there. They'll take them in a heartbeat.
