How to get mom with dementia to take her pills?

Geaton777 Nov 2021
You don't give much info to go on, so here is some from your profile:

"I am caring for my mother mary, who is 93 years old, living at home with age-related decline, alzheimer's / dementia, anxiety, depression, and sleep disorder."

It would be helpful to know why you think she isn't willing -- or able --to take them? Sometimes the very elderly start developing swallowing issues.

You also ask her pharmacist if her medication comes in any other forms, like liquid, patch or suppository. Most pills are not meant to be crushed or broken in 2 as this affects the time-release mechanism of the pill plus most broken pills so are horribly bitter that hiding them in food often doesn't work.

Please provide more details if possible.
