How do I get an occupational therapist to provide me the help I need?

JoAnn29 Feb 2021
You need to talk to your doctor. He needs to write an order for your therapy. Medicare should help pay for most of the cost with maybe your supplimental picking up most or some of the rest. OT is help with your ADLs so you will need "in home" therapy" probably.

Hello, can you please provide a little more information so the forum participants can give you their best advice?

- what have you tried so far to get the help you believe you need?
- are you on Medicaid? If not, do you have a Medigap plan?
- what is the OT for? What is the problem?
- what state do you live in?
- is the person who needs the OT living at home or in a facility?

Thank you!
