Anyone had a parent with rectal prolapse and had surgery for it?

Mom is 77 and just had laparoscopic surgery for repairing a rectal prolapse. It’s only been 2 weeks but she’s still having some of the same issues as prior to the surgery. Some incontinence and the prolapse seems to still be there although smaller. Wondering if this will improve over time or if it’s something she’ll have to live with.
