Do I have to show my bank statements if my elderly mother is sent a request for income verification? She lives with me in my home.

The money in the account I have in it with her in a separate account is mine. It is a joint account.

The question asked by the state of California is does anyone in your family have a separate bank account. I find it strange and intrusive.
