She thinks she is one of those folks who doesn't need help. In order to have a successful claim one must need help with at least 2 "activities of daily living." She will tell anyone who asks that she is just fine. If this happens during her assessment the claim will be denied for sure.

Worried for you. Read the LTC contract carefully. Get a lawyer to help if needed; it will be worth it. You will find out quickly enough if you need a Lawyer letter or if the situation is quite hopeless. Wishing you the best of luck.
