Mother (85) has neuropathy in both feet and she has bedsores. She was just released from the hospital and she doesn't want to walk. Advice?

Because of the pain. She's suppose to be turned every 2 hours but she doesn't want me to turn her. I was wondering if an inpatient rehab center would be best for her?

Why was she in the hospital. Wasn't a rehab facility considered?

Did she get those bedsores in the hospital? If so, its their responsibility to see she gets care for them. You really need a woundcare nurse. A lot can go wrong with bedsores. I would call discharge at the hospital and tell them you need in home care. Especially if those sores were caused by the hospital. I would want a copy of her admission record. They have to inspect a patient from head to foot and note any pressure points and sores, bruises ect. If there were signs, then precautions should have been made. If not, then the sores were caused by them.

If you get nowhere with them, call Moms PCP.
