Mom has moderate dementia. Sometimes she accuses my dad of hitting her which isn't true. I know delusion accompanies dementia. What to do?

Your profile says your mother is 86 years old. How old is your father? If he’s close to her in age, it’s not feasible for a senior that old to provide around the clock care for a person who had dementia and delusions. She must be very scared. I’d ask her doctor about it so they can evaluate if she has UTI or something else. I’d likely explore medication and or outside help or placement.

Delusions accompany dementia. Does dad have sole responsibility of caring for mom? That won't work much longer. Not fair to dad reasonable to expect him to provide all her care. He needs help.
