Braniac Asked June 2020

Hi. Any members who have been diagnosed with early onset Alzheimers or Alzheimer's?

I was diagnosed with early onset Alzheimer's in my fifties. I'd be happy to speak to any caregivers about my experience and what helps and hurts me.

Would love to connect with any patients who have same diagnosis so please let me know. Thanks

I would as well love to see any of your postings on any subject. My brother, in the last year of his life, was diagnosed with probable early Lewy's Dementia. He was able to describe the hallucinations this gave him, and his feelings, how differently he saw the world, so very well. On Facebook there are several people with early diagnosis who are advocates even to traveling and lecturing on the way they see the world. Oliver Sacks was so obsessed with his studies of the brain, and in later life with the ways people with a diagnosis of early dementia see the world differently. All of this is so very valuable to anyone WITH the diagnosis, anyone worried about history in family, and any caregiver. Hope to see your posts on forum, and answers to people who have questions.

Hi Brania, I am sorry to read of your diagnosis. Bless you for your willingness to give the forum a first-hand perspective. Maybe list some of the things so far that have helped and hurt in the Discussions section? Many will benefit from your learnings. May you receive peace in your heart.

Hi Braniac. I'm sorry to hear about your diagnose. There is one poster who also has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's. He has posted a number of times regarding his preparation or his future. I'm sorry I don't remember his screen name. I hope he will see your post and reply.

I would like to know what helps and hurts you?
