I live in Illinois and I'm a caregiver for my wife she has Parkinson's disease and COPD can I get paid for doing this?

There are no non-Medicaid programs in your state but if your wife is Medicaid eligible, then there are programs/community based wavers that would pay for her to have a caregiver. They wouldn’t pay you though. The programs are through the Illinois department of aging.

No, a spouse usually does not get paid. As suggested call your County Office of Aging to see what resources are out there for you. If you income is low, you may qualify for Medicaid in home care.
